Paterson Simons is pleased to announce the successful completion of a specialised Practical Technical Training programme for RTC S.A’s maintenance team in Douala, Cameroon. The training took place from 29 September to 3 October 2025, and was delivered alongside additional technical support on RTC’s fleet of Konecranes equipment.
The programme focused exclusively on hands-on, on-the-job learning, ensuring technicians gained real-world experience while working directly on live equipment.
Over the course of the week, the team completed a structured series of practical sessions covering:
· Hydraulic component identification and function
· Hydraulic pressure testing and setting
· Accumulator valve block repair and charging
· Brake system analysis and repair
· Hydraulic circuit diagnostics on RS-series machines
In parallel with the training, Paterson Simons engineers also carried out detailed troubleshooting on machines, including gearbox and transmission fault resolution and the installation and testing of updated Konecranes MD4 software. These interventions ensured that key equipment was returned to optimal working condition while providing valuable learning demonstrations for the trainees.
This combined support-and-training approach allowed RTC S.A’s team to see real-time diagnostic techniques, repair methods, and hydraulic maintenance procedures – strengthening their capability , even more, to manage and maintain their equipment safely and efficiently.
