A critical crane lift planned and executed for SUBSEA 7 in Ghana.

In News by Alisa Evans

Senior Engineer for CIT – our lift planning, training and inspection subsidiary – Phil Coggin, was recently asked to attend a critical lift as an Appointed Person on behalf of Paramount / JMI.

CIT are also responsible for all crane & lifting gear inspections on site.

These ‘suction piles’ for the Tullow Ten Field Project, weigh 123 MT and are 22m high and 4,5m in diameter. This is the first one of 9 to be turned and were built by Group 5 / Modec.

The lift was done with a Demag TC 2800-1, a 600 MT crane supplied by ALE and the Kobelco CKE 4000 from Paramount / JMI.

Everything went smoothly as planned.
