TERBERG TRACTORS, Nigeria: Partnering with APMT Apapa

In News by Alisa Evans

In March 2013, twenty Terberg YT222 yard tractors where delivered to APMT Apapa, Nigeria. APMT Apapa is the largest container operator in West Africa, and the current delivery is part of the APMT Apapa replacement plan. The combination of AMPT’s excellent experience of the Terberg tractors in several other terminals and the after sales service offered by Paterson Simons (literally just around the corner), offered APMT Apapa the best combination of guaranteed quality and on-the-ground service.

Mr. George Terberg, CEO of the Terberg Group, says “The combination of excellent quality and low total cost of ownership of the Terberg tractors makes our tractors the tractor of choice for many terminals within the APMT group.  Besides this, good after sales back up is becoming more and more a key to success. Since 2012 we’re working on an exclusive basis with Paterson Simons for Nigeria and Ghana, and we see the awarding of this order by AMPT an acknowledgement that this cooperation is appreciated by our customers in the region. We are very proud we can add APMT Apapa to our long reference list.”

Standard Paterson Simons hand-over procedures included engineer and driver training by both Terberg and Paterson Simons teams. This training is a combination of practical and theoretical training fully tailored to the machines purchased.

The twenty YT222 units delivered to APMT Apapa, Nigeria are part of the highly successful YT range. This range is the preferred tractor for all leading container operators world-wide, not only because of the total cost of ownership, but also because it’s very easy to maintain. With excellent access to all main components, the tractor also offers a high degree of comfort for the driver and is fully tested according the ROPS (roll over protection system) and FOPS (falling object protection system). As safety is of utmost importance for APMT, additional safety measures laid down by APMT were also met.
