Paterson Simons proudly supports National Forklift Safety Day, which is observed annually  in the UK and USA on the second Tuesday in June, falling on 11 June this year.

Organised by the Industrial Truck Association, this initiative brings attention to a critical safety issue within the industrial sector: the significant number of injuries involving forklifts each year. Statistics reveal there are between 35,000 and 62,000 injuries annually involving forklifts. Many of these incidents impact not just operators but also bystanders and pedestrians.

According to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), over 70% of these accidents could have been prevented with proper safety measures.National Forklift Safety Day underscores the importance of safeguarding those who manufacture, operate, and work around forklifts. It serves as a pivotal opportunity to highlight the necessity of comprehensive operator training and heightened pedestrian awareness. The day brings together stakeholders and industry experts to share invaluable resources and best practices, ensuring the safe use of this indispensable equipment.

Paterson Simons is committed promoting safety and preventing accidents in the workplace.

By advocating for better training and awareness, we are proud to support all those who aim to reduce the number of forklift-related injuries and foster a safer working environment for everyone involved!
