Engineers from Pasico Ghana (our subsidiary) and Mobicrane recently completed GMK2.1 and Introduction to GMK3.1 training, held during Weeks 18 and 19 at the Pasico office and Mobicrane yard in Ghana.
The combined theory and practical training provided participants with an initial overview of Grove GMK crane types and the technology behind these advanced all-terrain cranes. The programme covered key areas including carrier drive and powertrain systems, MegaTrak suspension technology, steering systems, crane controls and load moment limitation systems.
Participants also explored the various components of the crane superstructure, including boom systems, telescoping systems, jibs and associated drive functions. During the practical sessions at the Mobicrane yard, components were demonstrated directly on a Grove GMK5130-2 crane using models, graphics and live machine demonstrations.
Special focus was placed on chassis and superstructure functions, schematic interpretation and logic-based troubleshooting principles to strengthen practical diagnostic skills in the field.
The training brought together engineers from Pasico, Mobicrane and mining sector operations, reinforcing ongoing investment in technical knowledge and aftersales support capabilities across the region.
Congratulations to all participants on successfully completing the programme, and thanks to trainer Mirco Minoccheri from Grove for delivering the course and sharing his expertise throughout the two-week session.
