Paterson Simons Parts Coordinator Sertoria Costa recently accompanied members of Ghana Ports and Harbour Authority (GPHA) to Konecranes, Sweden for a two-day training course.

Justice Ntarmah – Material Officer, Ekow Bentil Entsuah – Materials Manager, Charles Ofosuhene – Materials Supervisor, Alec Douglas Oppong – Procurement Manager, Johnson Nana Amankwah – Procurement Officer and James Anquandah – Stores Manager attended the training.

The first day saw the team under the care of Ulf Simonsson, International Sales Manager for Konecrames Lift Trucks, who with  Daniel Sjostrand, Sales Director / Product Manager gave the team an useful presentation on the company, it’s ethos as well as future growth plans. Thereafter the team was given an “impressive” tour of the Konecranes Lift Trucks’s Facilities.

The following day began the real “nitty-gritty” of the training and included a visit to Almhult to visit the Elme Spreader factory.

Konecranes Lift Truck plant is in Markaryd, Sweden and Shanghai, China – while the Spare Parts Centre is only in Markaryd.

An essential part of the training was for customer-side maintenance and procurement managers to understand the processes on the manufacturer’s side and meet key parts staff. Connecting our customers with manufacturers is a critical step in keeping procurement and sales processes smooth and straight-forward.
