Paterson Simons was pleased to attend the 2026 Manitou Mining Days, held at Manitou‘s headquarters in Ancenis, France, bringing together dealers, subsidiaries and mining specialists from around the world.

The event provided an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss the evolving needs of the mining industry and contribute valuable feedback that will help shape the next generation of Manitou mining equipment. Collaborative sessions focused on future machine features, innovation and the continued development of handling solutions designed specifically for demanding mining applications.

One of the key themes of the event was Manitou‘s dedicated mining equipment range, which has been engineered to deliver safe, reliable and efficient performance in some of the world’s most demanding operating environments.

Mining operations demand equipment that can perform safely, reliably and efficiently in challenging conditions. Manitou‘s dedicated mining range has been developed specifically to meet these demands, helping operators improve safety, maximise productivity and reduce equipment downtime.

Designed for both open-pit and underground mining applications, Manitou‘s heavy-capacity telehandlers are available with factory-installed mining specifications and can be equipped with a wide range of specialised attachments to support maintenance, material handling and lifting tasks.

By reducing maintenance time and increasing machine availability, these solutions help mining operations keep productivity high.

Manitou‘s mining machines incorporate a range of advanced safety and performance features, including stability and load management systems, clamp pressure control, fail-safe braking and steering systems, exhaust gas treatment, and ergonomic operator environments designed to improve comfort, visibility and accessibility. All of these features are factory fitted and have been developed in partnership with mining experts in Australia, Canada and South Africa, where underground mining standards have a long-established history. Manitou continues to adapt its equipment to evolving legislation in these markets, helping create safer working conditions while supporting efficient day-to-day operations.

As an authorised Manitou dealer, Paterson Simons supplies Manitou mining telehandlers throughout West & Central Africa. The machines conform to rigorous mining standards and are delivered with full manufacturer support, genuine parts, technical expertise and after-sales service from the Paterson Simons Group, helping customers maximise machine performance throughout the equipment lifecycle.

The event also provided an opportunity for Paterson Simons to reconnect with Baptiste Godard, Manitou‘s recently appointed Vice President of Fleet Sales and Key Accounts. In 2011, Baptiste visited Ghana as Manitou‘s Construction & Mining Specialist, working closely with Paterson Simons to identify the factory options required to create the first Manitou telehandlers built with dedicated mining specifications. Fifteen years later, Manitou and Paterson Simons continue to work in partnership to deliver mining equipment specifically designed to meet the demands of the mining industry.

Paterson Simons values its long-standing partnership with Manitou and is proud to support customers across West & Central Africa with mining equipment designed to deliver greater productivity, safety and reliability.

We would like to thank the Manitou Mining team for hosting an engaging and informative event and look forward to continuing our collaboration in delivering industry-leading material handling solutions to the mining sector.

Manitou also took the opportunity to share their plans for the future of telehandlers in their MINING range at the lower end of the capacity scale, and roadmap for expanding on the electricfication of construction equipment to supplement their MT 1840 E (Manitou MT 1840 e, fixed telehandlers | Manitou).
