Paterson Simons & Co. (Africa) Ltd. [PSAL] has a long and illustrious history of trading. The company's history dates back to 1821 when Rawson, Holdsworth & Co. of London and Liverpool established their company in Singapore. This company was eventually to become Paterson Simons & Co. (Africa) Ltd. Incorporated in 1948 we have accrued well over half a century of experience in procurement of equipment and spare parts for African markets specialising in recent times on materials handling equipment. In Walter Makepeace's 1919 history of the Port of Singapore he records how instrumental William Paterson and Henry Simons were in establishing the New Harbour in 1861 and we are pleased to note through our key activity of supplying port handling equipment that the modern company remains close to the roots of the original business.
